Meet Bella

Status: Available for Adoption (adoption info)
General Color: Brown/Chocolate with White
Current Age: 3 Years 11 Months (best estimate)

Bella is a spirited 3 year old Basenji with a personality as bold as her bark! She's also sadly our longest resident in rescue. This feisty girl has been with us the longest, and while she loves to play, she knows exactly what she wants. Bella gets along with other dogs but shines brightest as the only pup in a no-cat household. Be prepared for some lively conversations, as Bella is a "chatty Kathy" who isn’t shy about sharing her thoughts. She’s leash and kennel trained, making her the perfect walking companion. Bella is looking for an experienced dog owner who can match her stubborn streak and give her the loving home she deserves.

Alaskan Animal Rescue Friends (AARF)

About: Alaskan Animal Rescue Friends (AARF) is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation based in Anchorage dedicated to helping the dogs of Alaska. Our all-volunteer crew rescues, rehabilitates, and adopts dogs into loving furever homes throughout Alaska.

Our physical office is located at 521 W 41st Ave, Unit D & E and is only open on adoption clinic days (typically Sundays). The dogs do not stay at this facility during the week—we rely on foster homes and boarding kennels to house the dogs and puppies until they’ve found a home. Our mailing address is 2440 E Tudor Rd. #105, Anchorage Alaska 99507.

Most dogs and puppies come to AARF from bush communities through other rescue organizations and partners, but we also take in dogs from local animal control facilities, owner releases, neglect, medical cases, and occasionally from high kill shelters in the lower 48.
